手花火の火種を妻の手より受け

                                    toy fireworks

                                    receive a fire source

春闘の文字右にはね貨車の胴　　　　　　

                                    brushing the character "shuntou" 

                                    off to the right 

                                   on the freight car body                (KN)

 

畳一枚ほどのげんげ田廃坑区           

                                    chinese milk vetch field 

                                    as small as a tatami matt, 

                                    an abandoned mine               (KN)

 

目瞑らぬ魚俎板に春の昼               

                                    fish with eyes open 

                                    on a chopping board, 

                                    spring noon                         (KN)

 

早蕨の渾身こめて握るもの             

                                    baby bracken grasps 

                                    a thing with all might

                                     in the hands                      (KN)

 

春愁や髪にかくるる耳飾               

                                     spring grief: 

                                    earings hiding behind

春の闇斧にかすかな木の匂ひ           

                                    dark in spring: 

                                    a faint scent of wood

花ぐもり鳩のおくびやう鳩時計

賑やかな子等の殺気に油虫

髭剃りて暑中休暇の終りとす

ジーンズの尻大いなり梨を買ふ

炭知らぬ子と泊まりけり飛騨の宿

吾臥すに北風の香は児の髪に

宿酔寒水わが歯割るごとし

見なれたるネオンの傷み年惜しむ

 自動扉だしぬけに開き雪に出づ

人待てば駅北口に日脚伸ぶ

オーバーを脱ぎ肩のさざめく春をゆく   

                                     taking off overcoat, 

                                      walking in spring

残業の灯を逃れきて夜店の灯           

                                      escaping from the light 

                                      of overtime work,

鳥渡る小駅始発の出張地               

                                      birds honking north 

                                      from the small station of origin,

蟷螂の腹ひやひやと掌に這はす         

                                      a belly of mantis, 

                                      crawling chilly

地下で買ふ裂け目ほとびし石榴の実　　　

                                     at underground shopping area, 

                                      buying a pomegranate

青さんま焼きて無残に失せし青         

                                     a  grilled blue saury: 

                                     has lost 

                                     its blue mercilessly               (KN)

 

土に棘立てて雨中の栗の毬             

                                      getting a thorn in the earth 

                                      a chestnut case 

                                      in the rain                         (KN)

 

大の字に寝て一畳の九月尽             

                                      lying at full length 

                                      on a tatami matt, 

                                      the end of September         (KN)

 

頭をふつて団栗独楽のすぐ倒る         

                                     shaking head 

                                     an acorn top 

                                     comes down soon                (KN)

 

風を待ち風を手送る芒の穂             

                                      waiting for wind 

                                      sending wind by hand 

                                      an ear of pampas grass      (KN)

 

ライターの炎のついとのびて冬         

                                      a flam of lighter 

                                      suddenly burns larger:

ジーンズの青を濃くして時雨避く       

                                     deepening the color

煮こごりに透きまつ黒き魚の目
